ABOUT UFE

Living with fibroids can be exhausting

  • Reduce heavy or prolonged menstrual bleeding
  • Shrink fibroids without removing the uterus
  • Find relief from painful periods and pelvic pressure
  • Avoid general anesthesia and hospitalization
  • Return to normal activities within 1–2 weeks

Heavy bleeding, pelvic pressure and painful periods can make everyday life feel unpredictable. If a hysterectomy has been presented as your best or only option — we're here to offer another choice.

Uterine fibroids affect up to 70% of women during their reproductive years. UFE is a minimally invasive, uterus-sparing alternative that addresses fibroids directly — no hospital stay, no lengthy recovery.

Discover UFE at OCIR

Don't settle for less. Get the body you want.

Uterine fibroid embolization works by blocking the blood supply that allows fibroids to grow. Using advanced imaging guidance, our physicians guide a tiny catheter through a small access point in the wrist or groin. Tiny particles are delivered to the blood vessels feeding the fibroids — causing them to shrink over time while leaving the uterus intact.

Real Patients with Real Stories

"About as smooth and comfortable of an experience as I could have hoped for dealing with an uncomfortable condition. I would recommend Dr. Syn and this office without hesitation."

- Adam F.

"Dr Syn was fantastic. He was patient, explained everything, in no rush to get to the next person. The staff is wonderful. Nobody wants to go the doctor, but they make it as great of an experience as possible, especially considering the sensitive of the issues. Highly recommend Dr Syn."

- Brad R.

"Dr. Syn has been amazing. He has thoroughly explained the process allowing me to make an informed decision. I went through 6 months of excruciating pain daily prior to my surgery and it all went away 3 days after surgery. Posting this one month post op and I feel great. I would highly recommend Dr. Syn."

Got Questions?We Have Answers

Does UFE work?

Yes. Studies show that about 85–90% of women experience significant improvement in fibroid symptoms after UFE, including reduced bleeding and relief from pelvic pressure.

Am I a good candidate for UFE?

UFE may be a strong option for women with symptomatic uterine fibroids who want relief without a hysterectomy. A consultation and imaging evaluation can determine whether the procedure is right for you.

Will fibroids come back after UFE?

UFE treats existing fibroids by cutting off their blood supply. Most fibroids shrink significantly, leading to long-term symptom relief. Some recurrence is possible but considered rare.

How long does the procedure take?

Typically one to two hours. Most patients go home the same day.

How long does recovery take?

Recovery is much faster than a hysterectomy. Most women return to light activities within 3–7 days.

Is UFE covered by insurance?

Many insurance plans cover uterine fibroid embolization. Our team will help you understand your coverage and navigate the authorization process.
