Dr. Ton is an endovascular specialist with dual-board certification in diagnostic radiology and interventional radiology. He performs a wide-array of minimally invasive procedures, with special focus on interventional oncology and embolization therapy.
After obtaining his bachelor’s degree at the University of California, Berkeley, he went on to obtain his medical degree from Drexel University College of Medicine. Dr. Ton then completed his radiology residency at University of California, Irvine, where he served as Chief Resident. He further advanced his expertise with fellowship training at the prestigious Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, specializing in interventional radiology.
His clinical practice encompasses a variety of embolization therapies, including uterine fibroid embolization, hemorrhoidal artery embolization, and liver cancer treatment. Dr. Ton also has a special interest in Transarterial Microembolization (TAME), an innovative technique that was first introduced in Japan and is used for musculoskeletal embolization to treat chronic musculoskeletal pain. This includes Genicular Artery Embolization (GAE) to alleviate pain associated with knee osteoarthritis, as well as conditions such as plantar fasciitis, arthritis, and overuse injuries.
Dr. Ton has privileges and is on staff at Providence Mission Hospital Mission Viejo, Providence Mission Hospital Laguna Beach and Children’s Hospital of Orange County at Mission Hospital. He is involved in clinical research exploring new therapies to expand the possibilities of minimally invasive care. In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Ton serves as a consultant and proctor for novel interventional radiology procedures, sharing his expertise with physicians and institutions to advance the adoption of innovative techniques.
Dr. Ton is an active member of the Society of Interventional Radiology, Western Angiographic and Interventional Society, and American College of Radiology.
